OLD CITY - NEW CITY
A TIME TRAVEL THROUGH JERUSALEM
For much of Jerusalem's history, life took place within the confines of the Old City walls, an area approximately just one square kilometer. In the middle of the 19th century, the new city began to develop rapidly. Today, Jerusalem is not just a city with narrow streets, ancient ruins and excavations. It is also a modern metropolis with many faces. We discover the most important places in the old city. Then we visit an Orthodox neighborhood and the bustling Shuk Mahane Yehuda vegetable market. The market is a microcosm of Israel where hipsters, politicians and people from every walk of life meet.
We encounter ancient history, modern architecture, architects, archaeologists, Utopians, realists and many religions. The wide variety of ethnic cuisine is also delicious!
